Machining G Joined in 2017
Joined the company in 2017. From my previous job in the ceramics industry, I moved to the manufacturing industry of ball mills, which are the core of the ceramics industry.
Having used a lathe at a technical high school, he had a wealth of knowledge about machining at a young age.
“The sense of accomplishment when things go well is important motivation.”
I am in charge of machining. I struggle every day with figuring out how to grip the chuck (the workpiece to be processed). Chukoh Seiki Co., Ltd. handles everything from design to assembly of each machine in-house, so each model has many different specifications.
In order to complete a model that satisfies our customers, we think and act on our own. Although there are many hardships, I feel a sense of accomplishment and personal growth when things go well, which makes it very rewarding.
Q1. Reason for joining the company
“Since high school, I have had an interest in and knowledge of manufacturing/industry.”
For high school, I entered a local technical high school, where I was exposed to machine tools as part of my classes. I joined the company because of my experience and knowledge at that time, as well as my interest in new machines. Also, because I originally worked in the ceramic industry, I was able to easily understand our special products.
Another deciding factor was the good atmosphere of the company when I came for the interview.
Q2.Who do you respect in your company?
“This is Mr. Ito, who is in charge of the same thing. I am always learning from each and every idea.”
Mr. Ito, my senior and mentor, who also works on the same lathe, has taught me not only work techniques, but also my attitude toward work, how to deal with it, and, although I wouldn’t say how to deal with it, how to get along with people. It’s really fun to have seniors at the company that I respect, not just their skills.
Also, I’m grateful to our president, Oku-san, who is always watching over us. One of the things that makes it easy to work for me is that they are always taking care of me, not just the food.
Q3.What is Chukoh Seiki Co., Ltd.’s vision for five years from now?
“First of all, I want to focus on digging deeper into my own skills/knowledge.”
In addition to lathes, I am also gradually working on small-scale machining, so I would like to learn and master this first. Also, currently there are many parts where I rely on my colleagues and seniors, so I want to think about everything from setup to completion of processing myself and accomplish it as my own work.
I would be happy if my growth could be even a little helpful for the company five years from now.
Q4. Please give a message to those who are considering joining the company.

Machine tools and industrial machinery are an industry that people don’t see, but we work hard every day with pride as machines that support Japanese industry.
